Mario Tlaloc Araujo

Mario was born 4/25/07,diagnosed with Biliary Atresia 6/26/07. BA is a disease (~1 in 15K births) that causes inflammation/obstruction of the bile ducts resulting in back up of bile in the liver which destroys the healthy liver. 7/1/07, Mario had a surgical procedure called a Kasai and was added to the Liver transplant waiting list on 12/4/07. He received his first gift on 3/23/08 but was relisted due to a clotted hepatic artery. He received his second gift on 4/14/08. This is his story...

Day of Surgery

9:16am...They were supposed to get us at 8am, surgery around nine and we just got bumped to noon so they said they'll come get us for prep and to talk to anastesiologist around 1030/11am hopefully. He hasn't eaten since 2am so we will spend the rest of the time cuddling and trying to soothe him from his hunger :(
