Mario Tlaloc Araujo

Mario was born 4/25/07,diagnosed with Biliary Atresia 6/26/07. BA is a disease (~1 in 15K births) that causes inflammation/obstruction of the bile ducts resulting in back up of bile in the liver which destroys the healthy liver. 7/1/07, Mario had a surgical procedure called a Kasai and was added to the Liver transplant waiting list on 12/4/07. He received his first gift on 3/23/08 but was relisted due to a clotted hepatic artery. He received his second gift on 4/14/08. This is his story...

Mario's Evaluation Scheduled

We have our transplant coordinator and the scheduler confirmed yesterday that we will complete Mario's transplant evaluation testing and appointments on the 19th and 25th. A couple of you recently asked if we ever got the bridge fixed so I added a link to the Flood and Bridge Repair photos on the right. Seems like a long time ago now, but I guess it wasn't really :) it is repaired (517ton of rock!) see pictures it is pretty amazing. More on Mario's appts next week, etc. Take care, Phoebe
